Hey guys,

Two days ago we decided to deactiavate our twitter account. There was a lot going on and we just wanted to clear some things up.

We started ClexaSources five months ago, mostly because we wanted to do something for the clexa fans, keep them up to date and just make a platform for fans. We enjoyed it a lot, especially when so many people reached out to us who enjoyed it just as much.

After 3x07, especially after our big movement began, we felt like there was a lot of pressure on us, so many people reached out telling us how we should run our account, if we could participate in certain matters and so on, we gladly did so, we completely supported the cause (and still do), but it was hard to coordinate with most of it, and that pressure became a sort burden.

Our dms have always been open, we feel like it’s important to have the fandom reach out to us and give their ideas and see what we can do or where we can participate in. But lately that has become a big issue. We had people telling us awful things in regards of their own daily lifes, which, in a way, we felt responsible for especially when these people trusted us enough to reach out to us.

We try to filter through hateful messages, we’re big girls and we can handle ourselves. If you follow our personally you’re well aware of that, we weren’t bullied, we felt, however, personally attacked most of the time and at that point we were pretty frustrated. We had people accuse us of things such as dragging an entire fandom down with our negativity or see us as the spokesman of an entire fandom (which we aren’t of course). We put a lot of time in CLs, some days we stay up till five am on school nights just to keep people updated. Of course, we put ourselves in that position, we don’t blame anyone. We just didn’t enjoy running the account as much as before, mostly because we were so fixated on trying to please other people.

We had to take a step back for a couple of days to take a deep breath and see in what kind of direction we wanted to go.

Thank you for letting us do that. Thank you for all the kind messages you have all send us, it truly means the world to us.

Especially a big thank you to the generous sugar daddy who donated almost $2,000 to the Trevor Project in our honour. We’re not sure if we deserve that kind of shout out since it’s honestly all on you, but you’re awesome.

Our decision to deactivate was a bit selfish and impulsive (perhaps a bit too dramatic but I guess we all have a bit of Lexa in us) and we’re truly sorry for letting you guys down!

We’ve decided to pick up where we left off, with some changes of course. We also decided to see if we can work with another co-owner, so if you would like to help out, go to this page.

– River, Maria and Anna.
Ps. Please keep in mind that the opinions we share on our personal accounts are of our own, so is our, sometimes, dark humour. We are entitled to do so, it is not, in any way, related or relevant to ClexaSources.
